Fortuitously, my MacBook spectacularly died earlier this evening. Happily, I had everything all backed up on dotmac and SuperDuper clones. And I have AppleCare and a spare Mac in the house (a Mini). I’m up and running without too much trouble and will call AppleCare tomorrow…one doesn’t like to have to test backups, but I’m pleased to report that all this stuff works!

Ack! You know, I’ve heard that people have had problems with these versions (both the MacBook and the Pro) and blame the Intel processor. Not sure if that’s the case or not, but it sucks. Hope it gets better soon!
I think the cause is that I take it everywhere in my backpack, but you never know. Apple rocks. I spent less than 12 minutes on the phone with them, and they’re sending a box for the laptop so they can replace the hard drive and send it back—for free. The rep was impressed with my geekery. I quote: “Wow, you’re good. Most people haven’t already done all the troubleshooting for us.” LOL.
dude — your geekery would impress anybody.
I LOVE FUCKING macs too!
