Twitter in plain English

Just had to post this video in my fanatical quest to get people on Twitter. It’s cute, too. Someone went to quite a lot of work…the creator is WAY more fanatical than I am! :)

Aww… how cute! It kinda makes me want to Twitter too! And now I miss my peel and stick dolls!

Wow, it’s amazing to think that this generation is ssooo “connected”. Yeah right! Those of you that think that you are connected by using e-mails, blogs, text messaging, etc. ad nasuem really aren’t. Sorry to break it to ya, but you folks are just kidding yourselves. You are just a bunch of observers of life.
If you were really connceted; you wouldn’t have the time to do any of those things. I’m afraid that you have substituted busyness and instant messaging for a “feeling” of togetherness.
Sigh, and the sad thing is…this is like singing to a bunch of deaf mutes.

Steve, I’m just wondering which generation you are assigning “those of you” to. ;) OMG I must sound like a teenybopper because of my blog…like my friend M, whose daughter accuses her of trying to be a teenager. But seriously, Steve brings up obvious and logical points (ones I’ve mentioned myself elsewhere in this very blog), other than the truly unnecessary name-calling. Fact is, I just think this stuff is fun, and it’s fun in time frames that I can slide into an otherwise breakneck life. I can’t really find the harm in it. Our society is arguably broken, and I’m not going to fix it single-handedly. Otherwise stated, “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.”

    NNR,

Even after watching the video I can’t see the attraction. Why should I want to let people know I’m eating cereal, and more importantly, why does that make us better friends?

I do realize it’s a generational thing (pull up your pants! ;-) ), but I just don’t feel the urge to participate. Not saying it’s bad, just of interest to me.

I am totally addicted to Twitter. Microblogging is the way to go when you are pressed for time. Follow me - I am “PixelRn.” What is your Twitter name?

Also, I think Steve needs to purchase himself a clue. This new way of communicating with people (blogs, twitter, social networks, etc.) is going to make a huge difference in our lives. The potential for these types of technologies simply hasn’t been realized yet.
